Area of Expertise

ANGOLA

Part of the Ryder Scott Angola LNG project team assessing associated gas volumes available in several fields in Angola including Girassol and Jasmin.  Provided geologic and geophysical assessment of oil and gas in-place volumes and assisted in the determination of Proven, Probable and Possible reserve numbers.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

For 5 years a major part of the Ryder Scott geoscience team assessing the gas reserve volumes available in offshore Trinidad, including properties operated by British Gas and BP.

U.A.E.

Lead Ryder Scott geoscience member of the technical and economic advisory team to large national oil company involved in the technical divesture of a portion of the largest offshore oil field in the world.

NIGERIA

Extensive experience in southern offshore Nigeria working as contract development and wellsite geologist for major IOC. Experience in numerous stratigraphic and structural environments associated with the producing oil and gas fields in West Africa.

VENEZUELA

Platforma Deltana
Conducted a geologic and reserve evaluation of past drilling results on various blocks within Platforma Deltana.  Undertook petrophysical interpretation of a number of exploration and development wells in order to establish the extent of in-place hydrocarbons.  Utilizing Ryder Scott generated structural interpretations, allocated the calculated in-place hydrocarbon volumes according to SPE guidelines.

COLOMBIA

Caribbean Offshore
Conducted a geologic audit of all client data sources in order to build a geologic model that would estimate the possible potential of the various known hydrocarbons horizons in the near offshore.  Performed probabilistic analysis on the more significant geologic factors concerning hydrocarbon generation and trapping in order to supply ranges of possible hydrocarbons-in-place.

Overthrust Belt
Performed geologic audit and reserve certification on a number of oil and gas fields within the main overthrust belt of Colombia.  Conducted evaluation of seismic and well data in order to audit the client supplied structural interpretations.  Undertook petrophysical interpretation of client wells to establish the basic reservoir rock parameters of each target horizon and field-wide pay levels.  Completed net pay maps in accordance with SPE and SEC guidelines in order to ascertain the proper classification and amount of reserves.

RUSSIAN AND FSU AREA EXPERIENCE

RUSSIA
Western Siberian Basin
Review and audit of a Russian company’s reserve report.  Audited basic geology and petrophysical parameters and then constructed volumetric reserve maps on all major horizons.  Using the current field production histories along with the volumetric reserve study created a field plan of development.

     Samotlor           Sevoro-Demyansky
     Kalchinskoye    Sevoro-Kalchinskoye
     Kamennoye     Em-Egovskoye

Review and audit of a Russian company’s reserve report.  Conducted petrophysical analysis on basic log data and constructed volumetric reserve maps into order to determine originial OOIP reserves.

     Tedinskoye

Orenburg Area
Review and audit of a Russian company’s reserve report.  Audited basic geology and petrophysical parameters and then constructed volumetric reserve maps on all major horizons. Using the current field production histories along with the volumetric reserve study created a field plan of development.

    Pikhtovy   Ust-Tegusse
    Urnensky

AZERBAIJAN
Initial review of basic petrophysical and geologic data in order to determine what geologic work would be required to determine the current reserves in two large producing fields.  Intergrated new petrophysical work with production data along with current well status to determine areas of by-passed reserves and recommended a plan of development.  In addition, the deeper field potential’s were reviewed and a reserve volume was estimated in order to determine an upside reserve case   Also tasked with conducting an ongoing quarterly geologic and reserves audit of the properties for a major international banking client.

     Kursenge   Karabagli

TURKMENISTAN
Review and audit of prior Russian geologic work in order to estimate the current reserve potential.  Performed petrophysical analysis on a large number of field wells, intergrated well data with existing maps in order to arrive at volumetric reserves.  Reserve report was used to form the basis for possible joint-venture.

     Lam

GEORGIA
Review and audit of basic field data in order to determine the reserve potential for the field.  Only very poor petrophysical and geologic data was available for review.  Intergrated geologic and production data in order to build a current view of the potential for using Western technology to increase production at this field.  Reviewed the potential for new drilling and possible workovers.  This was done for a major international banking client.

     Taribani

KAZAKHSTAN
Review and audit of consulting company’s reserve report.  Conducted audit of petrophysical work, geologic mapping and reserve parameters.  Constructed volumetric reserve maps and calculated the initial OOIP.  Using the field production, adjusted the initial numbers to determine the current recoverable reserves for the fields.  This job was done for a major international banking client.

     Kumkol   Akshabulak

Audit of outside company’s petrophysical and geologic work.  Using the prior work as a baseline, constructed volumetric reserve maps and determined the OOIP for the field.
